Plans
An overview of JustTunnel's four plan tiers — Free, Starter, Pro, and Team — and what each one unlocks.
JustTunnel has four plan tiers. Every account starts on Free. Starter and Pro are individual paid plans. Team is a per-seat plan that lets multiple humans share tunnels, reserved subdomains, and worker quota under one identity.
Free
The default. No card required.
- One concurrent tunnel
- Random subdomains only — you can request a name per invocation, but you cannot hold one across restarts
- Two-hour inactivity reaper: a tunnel with no traffic for 2h is closed by the edge
- Modest per-tunnel rate limit
- One password-protected tunnel at a time
- No worker tunnels
Free is enough to receive webhooks while you build something locally and to demo work-in-progress on personal projects. It is not designed to keep a staging URL up overnight.
Starter
A small step up for individual developers who hit Free's ceilings.
- Higher concurrent-tunnel cap
- Higher per-tunnel rate limit
- No inactivity reaper — a tunnel left open stays open
- Two password-protected tunnels at a time
- No reserved subdomains, no workers (those are Pro features)
Starter is the right tier when one tunnel isn't enough and you want a tunnel to keep running while you go to lunch.
Pro
The first tier with reserved subdomains and worker tunnels — the two features most teams upgrade for.
- Pro-tier concurrent-tunnel cap
- Reserved subdomains: names you reserve in the dashboard stay yours across restarts and across days you don't run a tunnel (Subdomains)
- Pro-tier per-tunnel rate limit
- No inactivity reaper
- Unlimited password-protected tunnels (up to your concurrent cap)
- Worker tunnels: long-lived, supervised, with a stable team-derived URL (Worker tunnels)
- Machine credentials for non-interactive auth (CI, scripts)
Pro is the right tier for a freelancer or solo founder running a staging URL that needs to keep working.
Team
Everything Pro has, scaled up and shared across multiple humans, billed per seat.
- Concurrent tunnels scale with seat count
- Reserved subdomains pooled across the team
- Highest per-tunnel rate limit
- Worker tunnels per seat, with a team-pooled monthly request budget
- Multiple machine credentials per team
- Per-seat monthly pricing, with a minimum and maximum seat count
Team is the right tier when more than one person needs to open tunnels under the same identity, or when a worker tunnel should be team-managed rather than tied to one person's laptop.
Picking a tier
A rough decision tree:
| Situation | Tier |
|---|---|
| Receiving webhooks during local development | Free |
| One tunnel keeps getting reaped at 2h | Starter |
| Need a stable URL for a staging environment | Pro |
| Need a stable URL on CI / a server (no laptop) | Pro (worker tunnel) |
| More than one person opens tunnels on the same project | Team |
| Want a worker tunnel that survives one teammate's offboarding | Team |
